The Elite Training Experience

For the second year, ACE 2019 will play host to The Elite Training Experience. Led by four of the UK’s top aesthetic trainers, these comprehensive three-hour individual sessions offer a unique taster of the most advanced training available in the country.

Enhance your consultation skills, improve your injection techniques, expand your anatomy knowledge and increase your understanding of complication management with guidance and live demonstrations from experts in medical aesthetics.

Please note The Elite Training Experience sessions are restricted to certain professionals only, and you will be required to provide a relevant professional number.

This year the Elite Training Experience will feature:

  • Aesthetic Training Academy (access restricted to doctors, dentists, nurses with valid GMC, GDC or NMC numbers)

Friday March 1

10:00 – 13:00 - Aesthetic Training Academy, supported by ACE

New to the Elite Training Experience is Aesthetic Training Academy, brought to you by industry key opinion leader and aesthetic practitioner Dr Simon Ravichandran and multi-award winning aesthetic medicine specialist and dentist Dr Emma Ravichandran.

This practical session will showcase an absolute mastery of techniques, taking you from beginner level all the way to becoming an advanced practitioner. Firstly, trainers will focus on how to do the most simple injectable treatments well to get exceptional results, then they will build upon this, demonstrating how to apply these basic skills to more advanced, complex treatments.

Over the whole three hours, continuous live demonstrations will be overlaid with theoretical descriptions and presentations, targeting those totally new to aesthetics, as well as those who want to perform advanced injectable treatments.

Among the various engaging topics will be:

  • Patient assessment

    The ethics of patient selection will be explored, detailing methods for responsibily selecting the right patient. Assessment skills will also be explored to assist with appropriate treatment approaches. 

  • Anatomy and injection techniques

    A wide variety of live demonstrations will take place, highlighting vital anatomical considerations for treatments including: lips, jawline, chin, perioral skeletal revolumisation, full face toxin, eyebrows, temples, foreheads and the mid-face.
  • Preventing complications and adverse events

    The presentation will have a key focus on how to avoid injection mistakes, avoiding danger zones and how to ensure safe and successful results.

Friday March 1

14:00 – 17:00 - Dalvi Humzah Aesthetic Training, supported by ACE

The award-winning Dalvi Humzah Aesthetic Training (DHAT) welcomes delegates to join its latest practical and interactive educational teaching session to enhance your clinical and practical skills.

This year, consultant plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon and lead tutor Mr Dalvi Humzah will be joined by cosmetic and dermatology nurse practitioner and DHAT tutor Anna Baker, as well as oculoplastic surgeon and aesthetic practitioner Dr Maryam Zamani. Together, the trio will drive your anatomy knowledge forward and describe their latest tips and techniques for successful and safe injectable treatments.

Among the various engaging topics will be:

 
  • Lower eye management
    The team will present procedures for analysis of the lower eyelid area, while running through treatment modalities available and video demonstration of treatment. The question of whether retrobulbar hyaluronidase should be used will also be discussed.

    • The multimodal treatment of the neck
      Trainers will discuss the relevant anatomy that is required for successful neck treatments, including dermal fillers, botulinum toxin and threads. They will explore how a multimodal treatment approach can produce effective results, showcasing this with a video demonstration.

    • 3D facial anatomy
      Exceptional anatomy knowledge is imperative for any aesthetic treatment. Trainers will explore facial anatomy considerations layer by layer, unveiling a brand new 3D virtual reality training suite launch.
    • The Secret Ps of a powerful presentation
      Being a successful teacher and presenter in this specialty can difficult, but is a skill that can be learnt. Such skills are an important part of work as a key opinion leader as well as those involved in providing training in Aesthetics. Drawing from elements of DHAT’s Training Aesthetic Trainers course, you can learn how to impress your colleagues and put forward an extremely powerful and memorable presentation, while communicating a message to an audience in a way that produces a desired change in their understanding or opinion.

Saturday March 2

10:00 – 13:00 - IAPCAM: Complications Workshop

The International Association for Prevention of Complications in Aesthetic Medicine (IAPCAM) will host an unmissable engaging training session on everything you need to know to prevent and manage complications from non-surgical treatments, should they arise. The training will be led award-winning aesthetic practitioner Dr Beatriz Molina, who founded IAPCAM in order to provide annual consensus updates on complication prevention and management, as well as practical, evidence-based hands-on training.

She will be joined by Sharon Bennett, award-winning aesthetic nurse prescriber and chair of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses, and Dr Sophie Shotter, a national trainer and key opinion leader, who will both share their case studies of managing complications and best practice advice. A yet-to-be-confirmed anatomy expert will also join the trio, who will discuss everything you need to know about what goes on below the skin’s surface.

The session will cover:

  • An anatomy masterclass detailing locations of blood and nerve supplies
  • Live demonstrations of how to approach high risk injection areas in the face
  • Removing hyaluronic acid filler with the use of hyaluronidase
  • Complication case studies, offering a comprehensive overview of how they were successfully managed

New to the Elite Training Experience is the Dr Bob Khanna Training Institute, showcasing the latest techniques, and treatment advice from Professor Bob Khanna.

New to the Elite Training Experience is the Dr Bob Khanna Training Institute (DrBKTI), showcasing the latest techniques, treatment advice and live demonstrations from Professor Bob Khanna.

Professor Khanna was one of the first dental surgeons in the world to venture into facial aesthetic procedures, utilising botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. He is internationally renowned as a leading lecturer, trainer and expert in facial aesthetics and over the last 22 years has trained thousands of practitioners in non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures. He has contributed to the development of the art of ‘Total Facial Sculpting’ and many of his students have progressed into extremely successful careers.
